Children seem to need privacy and shade or filtered light even more than grown-ups. Light linen curtains and cotton shades together can shadow a room quite well for privacy or a nice nap. If the light tends to be bright, light-blocking shades or lined curtains are often needed. We do not recommend Roman shades or any treatment with long cords for small children and find that roller shades and simple curtains are best for their rooms.
